Online Auction

An online auction is where items are bid on and sold over the Internet - similar to what you do on eBay or any other auction website.  This is one of the methods that cities may use to dispose of their assets according to the Texas Local Government Code.

Rene Bates Auctioneers will be conducting an online auction for both the City of Dickinson and the City of La Marque that will start on July 28, 2008, and will close at 10:00 a.m. on August 11, 2008. During this time, fleet vehicles, heavy equipment, computer equipment, and other miscellaneous items will be up for sale - "as is" - and anyone interested will have the opportunity to bid on them.

All winning bidders will be notified via e-mail of the items they have won at the close of the auction.  Buyers will then remit payment to Rene' Bates Auctioneers, Inc.
