This section consists of one supervisor, one foreman, two equipment operators and eight maintenance workers (line repairs).  Their responsibilities include all repairs and maintenance to the distribution and collection systems.  This division also installs new water and wastewater lines, water and wastewater taps, manholes and fire hydrants.  This is also the section battling Inflow and Infiltration (I&I). 

 

Personnel assigned to this division must also insure that all state, federal and local rules and regulations applicable to this field are adhered to.  Examples include the Safe Water Drinking Act, Texas Water Commission rules concerning proper installation and disinfecting procedures, trench safety and confined space entry.  They are also subject to fines, jail sentence, license removal and civil action.
