Warrants
Issued
The Court may issue an arrest warrant when:
- You fail to appear
- You fail to comply with an Order of the Court
- You fail to make scheduled payments
Failure to Appear
If you fail to appear on or before the due date on your citation, a violation for failure to appear or violate promise to appear may be filed against you. In addition, the Court may:
- Add additional fees per violation
- Issue a warrant for your arrest
- Place a hold on your Driver's License Renewal
- Place a hold on your Vehicle Registration Renewal
Failure to Comply
If you have appeared and have agreed to pay, make scheduled payments on a payment plan, or any other order of the Court, you must comply with those orders as specified by the Judge, or a warrant may be issued for your arrest.
Arrest warrants are issued for defendants who received a citation and/or a court date and failed to appear in Court when scheduled or failed to make arrangements on the citation.
Regular Arrest Warrant
If you have a regular arrest warrant, your options are:
- Plead Guilty or No Contest and pay in full
- Plead Guilty, or No Contest pay ½ of the fine, then establish a payment plan
- Post a Bond (cash bond, surety bond, or attorney bond)for your warrant and receive a new court date
- You may surrender yourself at the La Marque Police Department located at 431 Bayou Road La Marque, TX 77568
- Contact the City Marshal, Russel Washington, at 409-225-4027 to make other arrangements.
Capias Pro-Fine Warrants
Capias Pro-Fine warrants are issued on defendants who received a citation, have been found guilty by the Court, and failed to comply with orders of the Court.
If you have a Capias Pro-Fine warrant, your options are: Pay in full.
- Pay in Full
- Pay ½ of the fine and then establish a payment plan
- Contact the City Marshal, Russel Washington, at 409-225-4027 to make other arrangements.
- You may surrender yourself at the La Marque Police Department located at 431 Bayou Road La Marque, TX 77568
More Information
If you have warrants, you are subject to arrest at any time, and the City Marshal is actively searching for you. To avoid arrest, you must immediately resolve this matter or contact the La Marque City Marshal Dept. at 409-938-9253.
If you have the inability to pay your outstanding fines/fees, please get in touch with the court for additional options that may be available to you. The La Marque Municipal Court is considered a "Safe Harbor," and no defendant will be arrested due to outstanding warrants at the court window or in open court.
The defendant may be entitled to a credit toward any fine or costs owed by the defendant if the defendant was confined in jail or prison after the commission of the offenses. The defendant must provide proof to the Court.
