[ARCHIVED] Early Morning Concrete Pours at La Marque Fire Station

Concrete paving pours for the Fire Administration and Central Fire Station in La Marque Wednesday, August 2, 2017 and Thursday, August 3, 2017.

Construction LTD is conducting concrete paving pours for the Fire Administration and Central Fire Station in La Marque Wednesday, August 2, 2017 and Thursday, August 3, 2017.

Each evening from 3:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. residents can expect a steady rotation of cement trucks coming and going from the job site. Only one cement truck will be on site at a time.

The entrance to Saltgrass Crossing not be blocked. Residents and emergency vehicles will have complete access. Other than backup horns and the sound of the semi trucks idling, we do not anticipate excessive noise.

The pours on Wednesday and Thursday will complete the parking lot areas. Two more pours are expected for the building slabs in August. Citizens will be notified in advance. After that, construction is expected to be completed during regular business hours.

The new fire station and administration building are La Marque's first-ever capital project developed, accepted, funded, and soon to be constructed for a public safety entity in our City. The project includes two buildings, the Central Fire Station at 1000 Salt Grass Point Boulevard and the Administration Building at 5201 Texas Avenue.

“This is a milestone for the City of La Marque," said La Marque  Fire Chief Gerald Grimm. "These facilities will have incomprehensible positive impact on the delivery of quality public service across La Marque, directly affecting the preservation of life and property in our community.”

Please be patient as we grow and make La Marque a safer place. #iloveLa_Marque
