Galveston County Judge Mark Henry will host a press conference today to address the county experiencing an ongoing catastrophe of historic proportions as a result of Hurricane Harvey. Several cities within the county are in a complete state of emergency as thousands of people are still trapped in their homes and needing rescue.
Local, state and federal agencies are working diligently to ensure the safety of citizens and perform rescue operations for those in need. Judge Henry is encouraging those needing to be rescued to flag down rescue boats and personnel in your neighborhood. Judge Henry will give updates on rescue missions, shelter conditions and resources needed for assistance.
Today’s press conference will be conducted at the Galveston County Office of Emergency Management, 1353 FM 646 League City, at 3:30 CST. Only media personnel will be allowed in the building, OEM is unable to shelter evacuees at this time. The press conference will also be broadcast on Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/GalvestonCountyTX.
