Due to Hurricane Harvey and the ongoing storm debris removal efforts, Waste Management will begin by offering household waste and recycling. No bulk trash collection will be available until the disaster debris removal is complete. Harvey caused an estimated 7,600 cubic yards of storm debris in the City of La Marque. To date, about 2,500 cubic yards, or 33 percent, of the debris has been cleaned. There are up to five debris trucks running in the City of La Marque every day.

Beginning on October 2, 2017, there are new customer service phone numbers. For questions about trash or recycling service, call 800-800-5804. To schedule a Waste Management’s At Your Door Special Collection pickup or for information, please contact 800-449-7587, e-mail atyourdoor@wm.com, or visit www.wmatyourdoor.com.

According to Waste Management, 69 percent of plastic bottles don’t get recycled and 45 percent of aluminum cans end up in the garbage. Liquids can spoil an entire load of recyclable paper.
