[ARCHIVED] Schools closed Tuesday, January 16 due to inclement weather


Dickinson ISD, Hitchcock ISD, Santa Fe ISD and Texas City ISD schools are closed Tuesday, January 16, 2018. The weather is expected to worsen throughout the day on Tuesday with colder temperatures and icy road conditions.

Dickinson ISD: Dickinson ISD schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 16 for all students and employees due to inclement winter weather. The weather is expected to worsen throughout the day on Tuesday with colder temperatures and icy road conditions, which has prompted the closure to keep student and employee safety our highest priority. We will continue to monitor the weather on Tuesday before making decisions for Wednesday.

Hitchcock ISD: Due to the bad weather that will be approaching tomorrow, Tuesday, 1-16-18 we will be closing all of Hitchcock ISD. Also all athletic events for tomorrow have been cancelled. We will make a decision about Wednesday morning tomorrow evening. Please be safe tomorrow everyone.

Santa Fe ISD: Due to predicted dangerous weather conditions for our area with possible sleet, freezing rain, and hazardous travel conditions for our staff and students, all SFISD facilities and campuses will be closed on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. All extra-curricular and athletic events are cancelled for Tuesday and may be rescheduled. Please continue to monitor the district website, Facebook page and Twitter for updated information. The district will also utilize the skyward email and call-out systems to relay information and updates concerning school/weather information. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation, as we work to ensure the safety of our staff and students.

Texas City ISD: Due to the threat of icy roads tomorrow, TCISD is cancelling school and all extra-curricular activities for Jan. 16, 2018. Wednesday’s schedule will be decided by 4 p.m. Tuesday.
