UPDATE: 8:55 p.m. January 17, 2018: The latest update from Texas New Mexico Power Company estimates power will be restored by midnight.
(TNMP Update at 8:25 p.m.) Crews are continuing to work on restoring customers. It's slow and methodical for logistical and (especially) safety reasons. Our current estimate for restoring everyone is midnight. We know many of you are cold. But please know that all hands that can be on-deck are on-deck working to restore power.
(TNMP Update at 6:45 p.m.) Power now is out for additional customers. Our crews did this in order to be able to safely make repairs. But we're working on routing power around the problem and will restore all customers as quickly as possible.

UPDATE: 7:11 p.m. January 17, 2018: According to La Marque Police Department, Texas New Mexico Power has extended their estimate for repair by two hours, or at least 9:00 p.m. While crews were working to repair a transformer, another one blew. The attached map shows the impacted areas. The outage is widespread in Texas City and is also impacting portions of La Marque.
The power outage is impacting several major Intersections. LMPD is working on traffic control but drivers are urged to be cautions while traveling in the area.

Our early estimate, subject to change, is power will be restored to all affected customers by 8:30 p.m. We appreciate that it's uncomfortable in this weather.
