Learn how to save money on your income tax return & how your property values will be assessed post Harvey. Last year, Congress passed legislation to reduce taxes for survivors of Hurricane Harvey. Join us for the discussion:
- Chris Peden, CPA of Peden & Associates, will be giving a presentation on how you may qualify for tax relief on your federal income tax return. Even if you have already filed, you can do an amended return if it reduces tax liability owed or increases your refund.
- A rep from the Galveston County Appraisal District will be discussing how your property values are going to be assessed and evaluated Post-Harvey and the potential impact on your county property taxes.
- The Galveston County Long Term Recovery Group will give an update on their coordinated response to disaster recovery and the many services and programs available to help people in their recovery efforts.
- The 4B Disaster Response Network, representing a network of churches mobilized to serve people affected by this disaster in our area, will update on what they have done and will be doing to help people rebuild.
