CALL FOR BEAUTIFICATION PROJECTS IN LA MARQUE, TEXAS
Keep La Marque Beautiful Commission (KLMB) has identified several city streets that could use some extra TLC and commissioners invite all local volunteer groups to join the cleanup efforts on November 3, 2018. Currently, City beautification projects are planned by La Marque Cemetery Board, La Marque Garden Club, La Marque Kiwanis and La Marque Parks Board and The Back Porch Events Center off Walnut Street.
“We invite all church groups, local organizations and corporate partners to join us in cleaning the city during the 2018 La Marque Fall Sweep,” said Commission Chairman Joe Compian. “We’d like to have groups pledge for Cedar Drive, Bayou Road, Texas Avenue, Autry Road and sections of FM 1764, each city park and known dumping areas in La Marque. A few hours of volunteerism will go a long way in Keeping La Marque Beautiful.”
Volunteers will meet at City Hall and be provided with materials including gloves, trash bags and bug spray. A contest for most bags of trash collected is planned. Lunch will be provided. To volunteer, contact Colleen Merritt at 409-938-9255.
