Water Pressure Update 10:00 a.m. September 18, 2019

Yesterday’s water main leak caused by a vehicle crash was repaired as promised. When the line was pressurized, it caused a different valve to fail. Multiple crews have been working around the clock to replace the valve and get water pressure back to 100 percent. Weather conditions are making work difficult, but Public Works expects to have the valve replaced by close of business today, Wednesday, September 18, 2019. Please be patient with us as our crews are dealing with heavy rain and hazardous working conditions.

Water pressure should be vastly improved compared to yesterday. Every La Marque water customer should have adequate water pressure for normal business operations and household tasks. If this is not the case, please report online at concern.cityoflamarque.org or call La Marque Public Works at 409-938-9280. For after-hours utility or weather emergencies, report to La Marque Police Dispatch at 409-938-9269.

Water Pressure Update 10:00 a.m. September 17, 2019

Citizens and businesses across the City of La Marque may be experiencing low water pressure due to a water main break, but crews expect water pressure to stabilize in time for dinner tonight, Tuesday, September 17, 2019. The water line break appears to have been caused by a vehicle that crashed into a light pole, which damaged the water line underground.

“Citizens are reporting low water pressure, but no one is without water to our knowledge,” said City Manager Tink Jackson. “This is not a maintenance issue, but an accident caused by a third party. We understand the frustration and our crews are working around the clock to get it fixed.”
