Keep La Marque Beautiful Commission, which is committed to enhancing the community environment of the City of La Marque, announced the launch of their 2020 Texas Trash Off event, taking place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2020, at La Marque City Hall. Keep La Marque Beautiful Commission invites individuals of all ages to participate in the event and help keep La Marque clean and beautiful.

FREE BULK TRASH DROP-OFF, SHREDDING & TIRE RECYCLING FOR CITIZENS

9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Step 1 -      Load bulk items, grab a water bill or your Drivers’ License showing a La Marque address and come to City Hall, 1111 Bayou Road

Step 2 -      Deliver trash and be prepared to help unload. Only car and light truck tires will be accepted. No hazardous waste will be accepted.

VOLUNTEER GROUPS NEEDED TO CLEAN LA MARQUE ROADSIDES

KLMBC is seeking volunteer teams to clean up ditches, parks and known dumping areas. A contest for most bags of trash collected is planned. Group prizes are $200, $100 and $75. Individuals prizes are $100, $50 and $25.

Groups will meet in the La Marque Community Room and be provided with materials including gloves, safety vests, trash bags and bug spray.

8:00 a.m. -      Volunteer check-in, materials pickup at La Marque Community Room

9:00 a.m. -      La Marque Trash-Off begins

11:00 a.m. -    Materials turn in, lunch served

Noon -             Results announced

“Keep La Marque Beautiful Commission is dedicated to hosting events that raise awareness about recycling and beautification,” said Commission Chairman Joe Compian. “We host two cleanup events every year where the citizens of La Marque can drop off bulk trash for free.”
