[ARCHIVED] Low Water Pressure Update 9:00 PM 7/29/2020

Water Main Break July 25 2020

The water pressure should be returning to normal for citizens and businesses in La Marque.

Update 9:00 PM 7/29/2020
The water line has been repaired. About 15 linear feet of water line was replaced. Water pressure should be returning to normal.

Update 4:50 PM 7/29/2020
Citizens of La Marque could be experiencing low water pressure (again) from the same water main along the feeder road of I-45. The repeated line breaks from TxDOT contractors have weakened the line and repairs are not holding. A combination of rainy conditions, vibrations from freeway traffic and soil displacement in the construction zone are causing the very old pipe to fail. La Marque Public Works is on it and crews are on-site working on a permanent solution.

Crews are working as fast as possible and anticipate repairs will be complete later tonight.

We will post updates as they become available. Please do not call 911 or Police Dispatch to report low water pressure at this time.

Citizens of La Marque may be experiencing low water pressure. TxDOT contractors struck a water line on the Newman Road feeder, causing widespread water pressure issues. We are aware of the problem, crews are on-site, and repairs are underway.

Repairs are expected to be complete this evening. We will provide updates as soon as they become available. Please do not call 911 or LMPD Dispatch to report low water pressure at this time.

City leadership has met with TxDOT officials to address repeated water line breaks associated with the I-45 expansion project. We will continue to advocate for the citizens and businesses of La Marque.
Although the circumstances were out of our control, we understand your frustration and we are working as fast as possible to repair the line.
