The water pressure should be returning to normal for citizens and businesses in La Marque.
Update 9:00 PM 7/29/2020
The water line has been repaired. About 15 linear feet of water line was replaced. Water pressure should be returning to normal.
Update 4:50 PM 7/29/2020
Citizens of La Marque could be experiencing low water pressure (again) from the same water main along the feeder road of I-45. The repeated line breaks from TxDOT contractors have weakened the line and repairs are not holding. A combination of rainy conditions, vibrations from freeway traffic and soil displacement in the construction zone are causing the very old pipe to fail. La Marque Public Works is on it and crews are on-site working on a permanent solution.
Crews are working as fast as possible and anticipate repairs will be complete later tonight.
We will post updates as they become available. Please do not call 911 or Police Dispatch to report low water pressure at this time.
