La Marque Police Department will host a press conference in regard to an officer-involved shooting at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2020.
Members of the media should meet in La Marque Council Chambers at 1109B Bayou Road, La Marque, Texas 77568. The press conference is not open to the public due to COVID-19 concerns but will be live-streamed on the City of La Marque’s YouTube Channel at
youtube.com/CityofLaMarqueTexas and on Channel 16.
2:00 a.m. December 10, 2020
At approximately 11:15 p.m., on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, a La Marque Police Officer was involved in a fatal shooting at the 1000 block of Pirtle Street in La Marque. A press conference is being planned for Thursday, December 10, 2020.
Per La Marque Police Department policy, the officer will be placed on administrative leave during an internal investigation. Galveston County Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney’s office will conduct independent investigations, as well.
