family of four trying to catch water with pots an cups

If you spring a leak, shut off water to your home or business as soon as possible. If you cannot shut off the water supply, call La Marque Public Works at 409-938-9280 and we'll shut it off at the road. Next step - call a licensed plumber.

Water leaks can cause significant damage inside your home or business. If the leak is outside, its reducing water pressure for your neighbors. Check out these guidelines for what to do if you find a leak.

All general contractors and plumbers must be registered with the City. If they aren't already, they can quickly and easily register by emailing permits@cityoflamarque.org. This registration process is designed to protect citizens and property owners. Contractor registration and permit fees are temporarily waived in the City of La Marque.
Under normal circumstances, the process is 1. permit 2. repair 3. inspection and 4. water restoration. Due to the nature of this emergency, we understand repairs may begin before permits are issued. If that happens at your home or business, please notify us of emergency repairs by emailing permits@cityoflamarque.org with your name, address, and explanation of work.
If you hire a plumber or general contractor, they should take care of the permit process. If you do the repairs yourself, a plumbing inspection is still required. City inspectors and Development Services permit staff are standing by. We're here to help you get the water turned back on and your life back to normal as soon as possible.
Please remember to take photos and document damage if you plan to make an insurance claim.
Keep it simple - if you have a leak, shut off the water and contact a licensed plumber as soon as possible. Together, we'll make it through the great freeze of 2021!
