A funeral procession honoring Captain Jesse Turrubiate of La Marque Fire Department is planned for Friday, August 13, 2021. Citizens of La Marque should expect rolling street closures from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. Rest easy, Turbo. Thank you for your service.

A funeral procession honoring Captain Jesse "Turbo" Turrubiate of the La Marque Fire Department, including his family and emergency vehicles from across Galveston County, is planned for Friday, August 13, 2021. 

The procession will begin from the parking lot at First Baptist Church in Texas City at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at Abundant Life Christian Center in La Marque at 9:15 a.m. During that time, citizens of La Marque and Texas City can expect rolling road closures along the route. The procession is not open to the public and will include emergency vehicles only. 


Captain Jesse Turrubiate

Anyone who would like to pay respects is encouraged to park at La Marque City Hall or La Marque High School and watch from the sidewalk. Please help us keep roadways clear and do not park on the road along the procession route. 

Guests are invited to share in the Visitation from 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m., followed by 1:00 p.m. Celebration of Life Funeral Service at Abundant Life Christian Center, 601 Delany Road, La Marque, Texas 77568.

The service will be live-streamed on Facebook and YouTube. Details to follow.

La Marque Fire Department is partnering with Grand Prize for a BBQ Plate Fundraiser to benefit Jesse's wife and children on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Abundant Life Church. 

Captain Turrubiate has been employed with the City of La Marque for three years. Jesse was a La Marque resident, husband, father, and trusted friend. He was also a United States Marine Corps Veteran. Jesse will be missed by all of his family, friends, and his brothers and sisters at the La Marque Fire Department.
