TxDOT contractors working on the I-45 expansion project broke a water main at Texas Avenue and 45 in La Marque around 3:00 PM, causing low-to-no water pressure for citizens and businesses across the city. Citizens in the area around Kelley's Restaurant and Lake Road are without water at this time.
La Marque Public Works crews are assessing the damage and contractors with specialized equipment are en route. We anticipate the repairs will take several hours, and we'll post updates as soon as they become available.
We understand our citizens are frustrated. We ask for patience as we work as quickly as possible to restore water service. We are aware of this issue, so there is no need to report it at this time.
