Annual citywide cleanup event proudly hosted by Keep La Marque Beautiful Commission. FAQ info for shredding and bulk trash drop-off! Street teams are back this year - volunteers needed to pick up debris across town.
The Keep La Marque Beautiful Commission is hosting Fall Sweep from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at La Marque City Hall. Citizens of La Marque are invited to drop off unwanted household furniture, tree limbs or large bulk items at 1111 Bayou Road free of charge. Free shredding and tire recycling is also available. Only car and light truck tires can be accepted.
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Step 1: Grab your La Marque Utility Bill or ID.
Step 2: Load your items & meet us at City Hall.
Step 3: Follow one of our volunteers & be prepared to unload your bulk items into a dumpster.
Volunteer street teams are encouraged to register and join the citywide cleanup effort. First, Second and Third-place prizes will be given for most trash collected.
Keep La Marque Beautiful Chair Alanah Brown encourages citizens to participate by organizing roadside cleanups near their own homes as a family or with small groups of neighbors.
“Cleaning along our own streets is an individual activity that can unify our community as a whole,” Brown said. “Imagine if citizens all over La Marque did quick cleanups in their neighborhoods with their families. If we all contribute just a few minutes, we could sweep our town free from litter.”
Citizens who participate in La Marque Fall Sweep on November 6 are encouraged to share stories on social media. Send photos to the Keep La Marque Beautiful Commission Facebook Group at facebook.com/groups/KLMBC or @cityoflamarque.
