The water provider for the City of La Marque, Gulf Coast Water Authority (GCWA) will be performing major waterline maintenance beginning on Monday, December 12th. The work timeline is 3-days to complete the task. The Public Works Department Utilities Division coordinates with GCWA efforts to ensure water supply to all GCWA members by controlling our water intake flow.
The City has two (2) connections (intake) points with GCA, one (1) on the Northeast section of the City and one (1) on the Northwest section of the City. We plan to shut down the Northwest intake feed to accommodate water supply capabilities by GCWA. This shutdown is not expected to create any flow or pressure problems for the City. We tested the water system last week to ensure the reliability of flow and pressure.
