Water no longer requires boiling as of Thursday, May 18, 2017.
On Tuesday May 16, 2017, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) required our public water system (City of La Marque PWS ID #0840006) to issue a Boil Water Notice (BWN). Due to the presence of contaminants or an interruption in service, water from a portion of our system needed be boiled prior to consumption.
Our system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and/or bacteriological quality and has provided TCEQ with testing results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling as of Thursday, May 18, 2017.
If any bad smell and/or discoloration remains, citizens are encouraged to flush the lines at home by running the bathtub faucet for five minutes. Please notify the City if no improvement is noticed.
All citizens are encouraged to register for Connect CTY, and community e-notifications at http://cityoflamarque.org/145/Stay-in-the-Know. City staff is standing by to assist citizens with registration if necessary.
