RESERVING HIGHLAND BAYOU PARK PAVILION

  1. Pavilion Rental Requirements*
    1) All applicants with 50 or fewer guests must sign a waiver of liability for loss of property or personal injury. 2) Applicants with 51 or more guests must obtain an insurance policy protecting City from any liability and to have City named as co-insured in said policy for $ I 00,000.00. 3) A driver's license or another form of identification is required. 4) All requests must be done by the official application. 5) No group will occupy the entire pavilion unless a permit has been obtained. 6) Cancellations less than seven days prior to the scheduled activity will result in forfeiture of $50 reservation fee.
  2. Resident Definition and Fees*

    Resident reservations are for citizens of La Marque who reside within the city limits of La Marque. Residential reservation will require a permit and application completed and returned to La Marque Public Works. There will be a $100 fee and $200 refundable deposit for 125 or less guests. A portion may be withheld for clean up or repairs for damages.

  3. Non-resident Definition and Fees*

    Non-resident reservations are for individuals who live outside the city limits of La Marque. Non-resident reservations will require a permit and application completed and returned to La Marque Public Works. There will be a $150 fee and $200 refundable deposit for 50 or less guests. A portion may be withheld for clean up or repairs for damages.

  4. Commercial Group Definition and Fees*
    Commercial Group Reservations are for businesses. Commercial reservations will require a permit and application completed and returned to La Marque Public Works. There will be a flat rate of $550 per day fee. Reservations made less than 30 days prior to the scheduled event must be paid in cash or money order.

    I understand electrical power and water are not supplied for use under this rental agreement.
  7. Advance Reservation Disclaimer *
    Reservations can be made up to 90 days in advance for La Marque citizens or groups whose makeup is a majority of La Marque residents. Groups whose make-up is not a majority of La Marque residents or individuals who are not La Marque residents may reserve the pavilion up to 60 days in advance of an event.
  8. Park Hours Acknowledgment *
    Mac McGaffey Highland Bayou Park is open from dawn to dusk, seven days a week.
  9. Cleanup Expectations*
    Each group or individual reserving the pavilion is responsible for cleaning the pavilion after its use. All or a portion of the refundable deposit will be withheld for damages and if it is necessary for the City to clean the pavilion. Each group or individual will be provided with four 30-gallon trash bags. All garbage should be bagged and placed into the dumpster located on the site.
  10. Damages Disclaimer*
    It is the responsibility of the group or individual reserving the pavilion to note any damages to the pavilion prior to their use and bring it to the City's attention. However, the City will inspect the facilities regularly to note damages. City staff will do an inspection after each event before the deposit is refunded. The group or individual reserving the pavilion is responsible for the actions and/or damages caused by their guests. This includes violations of any park rules. Failure to adhere to Park Rules will constitute a forfeiture of the deposit.
  11. Non-Profits and Groups
    Non-profit organizations may have the $50 fee waived by the La Marque Parks Board. The Parks Board will consider exemptions on a case by case basis taking into account special circumstances such as the event being open to the entire community and providing a benefit to the entire community. Individuals or groups wishing to reserve the pavilion need to allow two weeks for a decision from the Parks Board.
